True Green Compostable bag is also “Landfill Friendly”

• It won’t compost in landfill but it will anaerobically decompose.
• It is likely to have a half-life in the landfill similar to food, about 4 years.
• It will decay and surrender practically all of its air space so presents a nil residual waste (as opposed to initial waste impact).
• The anaerobic process will produce Landfill gas. A modern Engineered Landfill will capture gas and it has the potential to generate about 2MWhrs of sustainable electricity or some other equivalent sustainable use.

In Summary:

Properly sourced and engineered compostable material provide a Short Carbon cycle solution. No matter what happens to it, it will degrade back into environment where it came from and (excluding any Long Cycle Carbon used in its manufacture and distribution) therefore “Zero Long Cycle Carbon”, which must be our goal.
